So here we are in the jolly good year of 2011. People are out of work. At least 20% of the population of America is currently receiving some form of food stamps (Food Aid for the more PC of you all). With all that you would think the City of Orlando, Florida would like to help those a little less fortunate than those in City Hall. No. It seems the organization called Food Not Bombs was giving out food (HA! who would have thought, it is in their name even) to the homeless, in a park, and there is an ordinance against that. So they get arrested. Nice piece of local government work there. [More]

Well, as you can see I am a constituent of the 49th District and my Representative is Darrell Issa. Several months ago I signed up for his email newsletter. He was only one of three representatives that I emailed about the Health Care reform that responded in a way that led me to believe he represents at least some of my interests. So I signed up to receive the newsletter. [More]

So I was reading FactCheck.org and recently they have talked about Democrats denying Social Security is failing. What I thought was the best part was the reaction of readers in this article. [More]

It is becoming more and more apparent that the Government doesn’t care what it does or doesn’t do to people. They are getting more and more invasive, and only will continue to get more invasive in our lives. They will do it under the guise that they are “protecting us” from “terrorists”. I long to be safe too, but I don’t feel this is the way a free people react to problems. This is not security, it is the guise of security. If I get in your face and pat you down, then you think you are safe. Not that they can find a way to kill you or a great deal of us. Hell, the don’t need to “find” a way, our news and media TELL THEM WHERE TO ATTACK! [More]

Alcohol, it helps your health and helps technology. What a combination, and who would have thought that. Also, I know I have preordered Fallout: New Vegas on Steam, but I still want it to come out sooner. Don’t we all? [More]

So it seems that the Supreme Court will hear the case that California is proposing to penalize businesses for selling violent games to underage children. The ESRB has been doing a good job rating games in my opinion, so I am not sure why this is necessary. So far this law has been squashed for violating First Amendment rights. I think that, in light of the current justices on the Supreme Court, they will continue to uphold the lower court’s decisions. Lets hope that First Amendment rights are upheld. [More]

It seems the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has ruled that it is acceptable for police to install a GPS tracking device in your vehicle without a warrant. I am pretty certain this case will go the Supreme Court eventually, at least I hope so.

If you read the original story, they have a link to an article at the bottom of how you can scramble the GPS signal. Gizmodo is getting more and more political. [More]

Unless you have been under a rock for a long time, you are familiar with that fact that they are trying to build a Mosque near Ground Zero. I have been hearing a lot of stuff about the Mosque and have been wondering what is going on. I have been reading FactCheck.org lately and have been impressed with it. What I really like is they don’t offer opinion, only what they can confirm. They only care about the facts. They take things out of context and put them back in context, and them leave me to decide. I like that.

I offer this specific topic (the Mosque) without comment or opinion as that is not what I want to do with my blog. [More]
