Ticket to Ride!

What a great game! I found this to be a quick game and fun as hell.  So far we have played this game with 2 and 4 players.  I will say the more players you get to play, the better the games.  More cutthroat, but I find it more fun.  Once you understand the game it goes so quick too.

The concept of the game is based on the events of the gentleman’s club that prompted Around the world in 80 days.  They continued their wagers in later years.  So the race this time is to see who travel to as many cities as possible in the time allocated.  Very light back-story, but still entertaining enough.  The game in my opinion is streamlined for simplicity and maximizing the fun of game play.  The story is also streamlined, but is just enough to whet the appetite.

The game pieces are good quality and are pretty sturdy.  Nice plastic trains, that are used on the board.

The game board is a wonderful fold out hard stock cardboard.  There is a map of the United States with the connections between cities (or routes).  Depending on where you are sitting in relation to the board, you learn a little more about the geography of the US if you are trying to find things upside down.

The cards are a little on the small side and hard to get a hold of.  Shuffling the cards can be a task, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly.
