How the Google/Verizon proposal could kill the internet in 5 years

Just finished reading this article from io9, which I found on Gizmodo.  The author states it is about Google’s proposition to create two tiers of the Internet, one public and one “special” services.  This author also proposed that the public will be the garbage and the private will be where they put all the best content.  It is a little too “end of net” for me, but the author brings up some very poignant arguments for not doing this(if the author is right about how it will play out).

I read the post that Google posted.  I found it interesting and not the “end of the net” as the io9 author seemed to make it.  If they can pull it off it could be good, and I do say could. I would say that it is a little altruistic, but maybe it could work if the government and big business are not stupid.  We can all hope.

I have the new Droid X and I love what Google has done with it, but I am still watching Google. Time will tell us the full story.  I am seriously worried about the tiered approach all the ISP’s want to do, as they have done with cable.  It just seems to me that they want to prioritize what content you see.  For me this is not what we in America stand for.

There are several other links to the original posts on in this article, I would suggest you read them and make up your own mind.
