So this is a new project funded by Darpa.  It is a robotic drone that can take off and land vertically as shown in the picture.  To me the biggest part of this article is that DARPA is the coolest organization to fund projects in the world right now. They are funding everything and anything that can help them fight wars, but that is a big swath of projects.  It would be cool just to look at all the projects that they get to choose from every day.  I mean what kind of wackiness do they get to see.  We have all seen the black and white films of airplanes and helicopters as they began. They get to see real world counterpoints to that TODAY. Think of all the craziness they come up with!  Maybe it would be depressing to see what people think is relevant to them, but still fun to see the inventiveness.
