You have to love science.  They are now doing what they can to create better yeast for brewing.  They are doing it with something I was told was harmful to yeast’s reaction, light.  Albeit a red light (enter bad jokes here).  So what it seems is they shine a red light on the beer and it either turns on or off the yeast. Now the yeast’s condition is determined thru it emitting light as well. It is amazing what scientists can do when they want a beer. To bad cancer is alcoholic.

Being a home brewer I am interested in this yeast as a way to better my brew.  I have to make sure I get a good batch first, then I can use this to make better brews.
